UM Technology Start-Up Boot Camp (09/12/08)
This annual day-long workshop is designed to teach faculty, students and researchers how to start their own companies. The Boot Camp is taught by venture capitalists, intellectual property attorneys, marketing experts, and accomplished entrepreneurs. The Boot Camp helps faculty and students transfer innovative research and ideas out of the University setting and into the commercial sector.
UM $75K Business Plan Competition (business plans due 03/29/09; finals are 05/08/09)
The annual University of Maryland $75K Business Plan Competition provides educational and networking opportunities for students, faculty, and young alumni. The Competition fosters new venture ideas and provides new opportunities for participants to compete for prize money that will enable them to launch and grow their ventures.
